Neoclassical Ballets!

Miami, FL – After an extraordinary 25th-anniversary celebration, Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida is opening up its 26th season with a spectacular program of Classical and Neoclassical Ballets! Under the direction of recently awarded Ballet Master and Director, Vladimir Issaev, the company features its international troupe of 24 professional dancers in three thrilling choreographies, including a world premiere inspired by a historical and passionate love story. Classical and Neoclassical Ballets will be performed on Saturday, October 7 at 7:30 PM at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts and on Saturday and Sunday, October 14 and 15 at 7:30 PM and 5:00 PM respectively, at the Aventura Arts and Cultural Center.

The company is excited to open up the program by bringing back a highlight piece: Yanis Pikieris’ thrilling version of “Danzón”, a neo-classical piece accompanied by the enchanting music of Arturo Marquez. The principal couples will be performed by Louise Rigby and Yoichi Habaguchi, Kanon Murakami and José Pechené and Kanau Shiina and Daniel Panameno. Next, Issaev then brings back to the stage his beautiful version of “Four Seasons”, set to the magnificent score by Giuseppe Verdi – Les vêpres siciliennes (1855), as the talented dancers bring each season to life with their artistry and skill to this demanding choreography. Among the featured couples that will be performing are Remina Tanaka and Yayoi Sasaki as Winter, Kanon Murakami and Yoichi Habaguchi as Spring, Moegi Matsuzawa and Clarence Wong as Summer, Kanau Shiina and Daniel Panameno as Fall

The highlight of the evening will be the world premiere of “Inspired by Love”, a piece inspired by the passionate love letters exchanged between Manuela Saenz and the Liberator Simon Bolivar. Featuring the exquisite music of Aldemaro Romero and choreography by Vladimir Issaev, this piece promises to be a moving tribute to their extraordinary love story, their fight for independence, and a homage to the power of their connection, as Manuela’s unwavering devotion to Bolívar and bravery earned her the title of “liberator of the liberator.” The evocative music composed by Aldemaro Romero will stir your emotions and enhance the narrative in a breathtaking performance with Prima Ballerina Mary Carmen Catoya as Manuela and José Luis Pechené as Bolívar.
