The summer intensive program has been designed to provide serious students ages 10 to 22 with a complete dance-training program. There are three levels of study available; Preparatory, Intermediate, and Advanced or Pre-Professional. There is also a Teachers Program. The curriculum includes a complete dance-training program for both male and female students who will be able to receive a unique approach to authentic, traditional Russian ballet training with the finest Russian teachers graduated from the Vaganova Ballet Academy.

The program teaches the Russian ballet technique (Vaganova Method) given by teachers who have graduated from the prestigious Vaganova Ballet Academy. All ballet teachers have been students of Vaganova, Tarazov, Plaht, among others, with a high quality expertise in Russian, American, European and Latin American ballet companies.

About the Program
Instruction will concentrate on ballet technique, Pointe, adagios, port de bras, pirouettes, small and big jumps, variations and allegros. Each group will receive Ballet Technique, Pointe*, Female and Male Variations, Character, Pas de Deux classes* (suspended due to COVID-19), Modern, Flamenco, Pilates and Body Alignment classes.
*For the Intermediate and Advanced levels only.
The schedule of classes will depend on the level of the student. Students will take at least 4 classes a day, 1 hour and 30 minutes for Technique and 1 hour for every other discipline. Selection and student placement is at the sole discretion of the Artistic Director, Mr. Vladimir Issaev. Classes are Mondays thru Fridays 9am to 3pm, and Saturdays 10am to 2pm. There is a lunch break in the middle of the day.

Was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina where he trained in dance and theater. Later he relocated to Spain where he trains with different teachers and choreographers. He has performed on the most outstanding stages worldwide and with the most prestigious artists such as Rocio Jurado, Isabel Pantoja among others. He continues to perform with the most prestigious Flamenco companies in South Florida. Jorge teaches only at selected locations in Miami, among them Vladimir Issaev School of Classical Ballet and is also part of the faculty of the Summer Intensive Program of Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida.

IMPORTANT
By standards, teachers will adjust student’s body manually to correct alignment and/or technique.
If student does not allow this practice, please, do not audition.
These standards will be suspended at this time due to COVID-19
For live auditions, applicants must bring application form and a short résumé including the student's name and address, birth date, and ballet training background.

Classes will not exceed 20 students per level.
Classes and schedules will be adapted to 8 students per in-studio class, following CDC regulations.

After this date there is no guarantee the student will have a place in the program.

International Students
We are proud to welcome serious students from all over the world who are interested in obtaining professional training from our renowned faculty and are specialized in the Vaganova Method of Classical Ballet. The summer program does not offer student visas for attendance. International students wishing to attend the summer intensive must do so on a tourist visa. Please consult your local embassy or consulate for policies when traveling to and visiting the United States.
Housing
No housing is available for the Summer Intensive Program.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida cannot offer family hosting, neither can make any recommendations of any type of housing or hotels.
All students under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and be responsible for their own housing.
CDC RECOMMENDATIONS
We will:
• Allow only 12 students per class (Classes will be divided)
• Barres and Floors are already marked so there will be at least 6 feet distance between the children
• Participants will come directly to the rooms through the outside doors and not through the reception area.
• Participants will have a pre assigned area to place their belongings inside the studios.
• Parents are NOT allowed in the school
• Temperature will be measured before class
• Hand sanitizer will be given to the children before and after class
• Participants must bring their own water bottle - – There is a water bottle dispenser to refill
• Participants must bring their own LIGHT lunch.
Practice social distancing
• Our FOUR (4) bathrooms will be available ONLY in case of true emergency.
• Our staff and teachers have been trained to clean before and after each class or the use of the bathrooms
• Everyone will be a wearing a mask -
HOWEVER!! CDC recommends children not to wear the mask while doing exercises or “dancing”.

The option of classes through the Zoom platform will be available to all participants.

Any registration between May 31 and June 6 has a $100 late fee.
