General Requirements for Graduation Theses of Masters

A master's thesis is a mandatory research project carried out by graduates of the second stage of professional education. Please note that the depth of immersion in the chosen topic will be deeper, because it is not for nothing that the project is called a dissertation. Therefore, the requirements for will be tougher.

The writing and design of the master's work takes place according to the general canons: taking into account the current guidelines, methodological recommendations and current problems within the framework of the specialization being mastered.

The implementation of this research assumes that the author will understand all the nuances of the chosen topic from a theoretical, practical and scientific point of view, will be able to develop an improved mechanism or innovative algorithm for solving the problem and prove its effectiveness through forecasting and / or testing (moreover, the second method is preferable).

Features of the master's thesis

The results of the study should be presented taking into account the following general parameters, which will apply to all material:

  • A master's thesis is a written work presented strictly in a scientific style in English on A4 sheets;

  • The study should consist of a combination of text, tables and graphics. The same type of presentation (only text or continuous diagrams and figures) is unacceptable;

  • The average volume of a master's thesis reaches 60-90 pages (sometimes up to 120 pages are allowed) of printed and already formatted text;

  • Text information is presented in Times New Roman font, color - black, font size - 14 pt., line spacing - 1.5, location - across the page width;

  • The use of a smaller font is allowed only when designing tables - 12pt, footnotes - 10pt;

  • Line spacing 1.0 is allowed in the design of tables, footnotes;

  • The structure of the master's thesis is clearly outlined: the theoretical section - highlights the main canons and scientific aspects of the topic, the current state of affairs in the industry and science, the analytical section - is devoted to the activities of a specific object with a problem (on the research topic), the advisory section - the development of an action plan to solve the problem, with that it must be “innovative” (previously not used by anyone);
