2008 SUMMER INTENSIVE PROGRAM
CLASSICAL BALLET SEMINAR OF RUSSIAN TECHNIQUE
In conjunction with the Vaganova Ballet Academy in Saint Petersburg, Russia
July 7 to August 2 - 2008
This exciting and intense program has been designed to provide serious students ages 10 to 22 with a complete dance-training program. There are four levels of study available; Intermediate I, Intermediate 2, Advanced and Pre-Professional. There is also a Teachers Program. The curriculum includes a complete dance-training program for both male and female students who will be able to receive a unique approach to authentic, traditional Russian ballet training with the finest Russian teachers.
Featuring: Russian ballet technique directly from the Vaganova Ballet Academy (Kirov) given by teachers who come from the prestigious academy. All ballet teachers have been students of Vaganova, Tarazov, Plaht, among others, with a high quality expertise in Russian, American, European and Latin American ballet companies.

About the Program
Instruction will concentrate on ballet technique, Pointe, adagios, and variations, port de bras, pirouettes, small and big jumps, variations and allegros. Each group will receive Ballet Technique, Pointe, Female and Male Variations, Character, Pas de Deux classes, Modern, Flamenco, Pilates and Gyrokenesis classes.
The schedule of classes will depend on the level of the student. Students will take at least 4 classes a day, 1 hour and 30 minutes for Technique and 1 hour for the every other discipline. Selection and student placement is at the sole discretion of the Artistic Director, Mr. Vladimir Issaev. Classes are Mondays thru Fridays 9 am to 4:00 pm, with rehearsals from 4 pm to 5 pm and Saturdays 10 am to 2 pm with rehearsals from 2 pm to 3 pm. There is a lunch break in the middle of the day.
All members of the faculty will be teaching all students in all levels.

Dancing Opportunities
The program includes one performance at the Julius North Miami Beach Performing Arts Theater. The repertoire includes classical and neo-classical works. Modern, Flamenco and Character pieces are also included. All students participate in the performance. Students in the Professional Level will be observed for a possible invitation to join our Ballet Company Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida.

Auditions
Live auditions will be held only in Miami, FL. - Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida by appointment or at the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia.
By standards teachers will adjust student’s body manually to correct alignment and/or technique. If student does not allow this practice, please, do not audition.
Requirements: Students should wear only leotards and tights, no skirts or warmers. Bring short résumé including the student's name and address, birth date, and ballet training background.
Audition fee: $ 25.00 and application form

By Video
Students unable to attend to live auditions may audition by video DVD-R. No performance videos, please. Student should wear only leotards and tights for this video, no skirts or costumes Video must be accompanied by a résumé including the student's name and address, birth date, and ballet training background. The application fee for video submissions is $20.00 – Personal Checks or Money Order to Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida.

VIDEO - REQUIREMENTS
- A la barre: Tendu, Fondu, Grand Battements
- Center: Develope devant, a la seconde; first arabesque; pirouettes en dedans and en dehors; sautés in first position (16 jumps)
- Diagonal: Grand jetés
- Pointe work: Echappé combination with passé; Pirouettes (For advanced students: fouettés turns)
- Men’s Requirements: Entrechat Six; Single or Double Tour en l’air

Classes
Classes will not exceed 20 students per level. Once the level reaches full capacity, students will be placed on a wait list
