ARTS BALLET GOES TO SCHOOL

The purpose of this program is to develop a new audience generation of high-quality cultural standards, who will be able to promote the community’s outreach and highlight its ethnic pluralism.
The program is offered to public schools of the community at no cost. Participants include kindergarten to elementary school-aged children.

HOW IT WORKS?
Members of the professional corps, our Artistic Director, Ballet Mistresses and Music Coordinator visit each school to provide a well-rounded presentation designed to increase knowledge, appreciation, and participation in classical ballet and music engaging students of all ages.
Dancers and Musicians perform on the stage area designated by the school and welcome between 75 and 100 children per presentation.
The artists give an introduction followed  by a brief synopsis and a technical demonstration led by dancers and musicians with student participation. There is a section of Questions and Answers while the artists get ready for a final performance with excerpts of the ballets and music pieces of our repertoire.
The children participate by interacting with the dancers, learning steps on stage and participating in musical exercises.
A supplementary guide is given to the children to encourage them to read about the activity they just experienced, giving them a better understanding of ballet and music.

WHEN and WHERE ? The program takes place during the school calendar from September through May at a special assembly on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 8 to 10 am. The presentations are usually performed at the auditoriums, cafeterias, or media rooms at the public schools.
Field trips to Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida studios can be also scheduled.
The public schools must contact Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida to schedule the presentations.
This program is offered to the public schools at no cost. For engagements please call 305 948 4777 or email abtflorida@aol.com
